Special Educational Needs Coordinator job summary

Danehill Church of England village school has 4 classes with mixed ages and a small percentage of special needs and pupil premium children. Provision for these children is made through the use of quality first teaching, teaching assistants and one INA.

A Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) is needed to monitor the effectiveness of this work, provide advice, support and/or monitor appropriate interventions, carry out testing and screening as required and liaise with parents.

The SENCo is responsible for the implementation of the SEND policy across the whole school, to coordinate the schools provision for special needs and to liaise with external agencies and parents. The SENCo reports to the Headteacher and SEND governor.

The post holder will need to liaise with the leadership team and the SEN governor.

The current SENCO in post will conduct a full hand-over and introduce the successful candidate to the current school ethos and approach to special needs provision.

Interviews will take place on Thursday 9th June 2022.
