Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking for a wonderful SEN Teaching Assistant to provide direct support for a student with emotional needs and to work with and help facilitate that students’ successful inclusion in school life. To provide whole school supervision of and assistance for pupils during lunchtime. This may be in the school hall, outside on the playground or in classrooms when the weather is wet.

    • Provide 1:1 to a pupil with identified SEND needs.

      • Help the child access the curriculum and develop independence, confidence and resilience.

        • Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.

          • Support the wider life of our caring school community.

          About You

          You will be passionate about education and dedicated to helping children achieve their full potential while ensuring all pupils are supported to achieve this.

          You will be trustworthy, enthusiastic, full of energy, well-organised and self-motivated. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to build strong relationships with children and families. You must have good numeracy and literacy skills and be passionate about making learning captivating for children, adapting where necessary to support children’s individual needs.

          You will maintain confidentiality, be highly professional and be committed to improving your own practice.
