What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an SNA to support children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). The role involves working alongside class teachers to ensure appropriately scaffolded learning, carrying out 1:1 target work to reduce barriers to learning and (most importantly) helping our children grow in independence. If you enjoy the fast-paced and demanding environment of school life; are a quick-learner; well organised; empathetic and able to work both as a member of a team and on your own initiative, we would love to hear from you. A high level of literacy and numeracy is essential and signing skills, or an interest in learning to sign, would be an advantage. The ELKLAN qualification will be provided for the successful applicant.

What the school offers its staff

We can offer enthusiastic, delightful children, an inspiring environment and welcoming staff. Visits to the school are strongly encouraged and recommended and the Resourced Provision manager will be happy to show you around and talk to you more about the role.

Commitment to safeguarding

Hiltingbury Infant School and Hampshire County Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.
