What skills and experience we're looking for

We need a good practitioner withcommitment, a sense of humour, high expectations of the children, a creative approach to teaching and flexibility.

Key responsibilities are expected to involve, but are not limited to:

  • Classroom teaching
  • Managing behaviours
  • Curriculum development
  • Liaising with parents and therapists
  • Staff team meetings
  • Managing teaching assistants

Experience of the following are desirable but not essential:

  • Managing ASD behaviours, speech and language issues, physical difficulties, use of Makaton or use of the TEACHH approach. An interest in these areas is essential
  • Teaching experience at Reception, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2

William Cobbett is a large primary school in the north of Farnham in Surrey. We also have a Special Needs Support Centre catering for children with communication and interaction needs. We are an inclusive school and have the happiness and welfare of pupils at the heart of our work. Staff work closely together and want our children to enjoy their time at school, work hard and achieve well.
