Specialist Academic Tutors 2021/22 (temporary posts)
The Four Stones Multi Academy Trust (MAT) is seeking to appoint subject Specialist Academic Tutors as part of our catch-up support programme in 2021/22. We welcome applications from candidates offering any of the subjects we offer at GCSE and A Level (see table below) but we are particularly keen to support students in high entry GCSE (eg English, mathematics, science, modern foreign languages, history and geography) and A Level subjects. The following subjects are offered at GCSE/A Level at one or more of the schools in the MAT:
Art & Design
D&T – food and nutrition
D&T – product design
D&T – textiles
Science (combined award)
Art & Design
English language and literature
Government and Politics
With planning support from subject leaders, the successful candidates will prepare and deliver small group tuition for students in examination years (Years 11 and 13) in all three schools in the MAT, reteaching content that is not yet secure. The students will be identified as needing intervention as a consequence of the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Tuition is likely to be delivered after school hours and online (although there may be an opportunity to work in one or more of the schools in person) and be paid hourly (at a rate to be negotiated) as required in the autumn, spring and summer term (maximum 5 hours per week).
The role of Specialist Academic Tutor may be suitable for teachers who are currently in a part-time role (either at one of our schools or elsewhere), recently retired teachers, teachers taking a career break or those who are considering a career in teaching with relevant educational experience.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Applying for the job
The application forms are available on the MAT’s website (http://thefourstonesmat.co.uk/) and the completed one should be emailed to email@example.com by 10.00am on Monday 27th September. Interviews will take place in the following two weeks over a video link using Microsoft Teams.
If you need these documents in an accessible format, please contact the school.
