Further information about the job

The candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
Visas cannot be sponsored.
If you're interested in teaching or training to teach in England as an international citizen, we can help you understand your next steps.

From September, our school will host a dedicated provision for children with ASC and complex communication and interaction difficulties. This isn’t just a classroom; it’s a bespoke environment designed to bridge the gap for our youngest learners. You won't just be teaching; you will be a key architect in shaping the pedagogy, the physical space, and the inclusive culture of this new base.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • The Launch: Work alongside the Rainbow Base Team and Local Authority partners to prepare the environment and curriculum for a September start.

  • The Practice: Deliver high-quality, specialised EYFS/KS1 teaching that prioritises communication, sensory regulation, and social emotional development.

  • The Advocacy: Act as a specialist lead within the school, modeling best practices for ASC and supporting the wider staff team.

  • The Partnership: Build deep, trusting relationships with parents and external professionals (Speech & Language, OT) to ensure a holistic "team around the child" approach.

Because this is a brand-new provision, we are working on an accelerated timeline to be ready for our September pioneers. As the physical setting is currently being transformed into a specialist hub, we are unable to offer site visits at this stage. However, we don't want that to stop you from getting a feel for our vision! We highly encourage prospective candidates to contact the school office to arrange an informal phone call or meeting with our Headteacher, Lottie Harriman. This is a great opportunity to discuss the roadmap for the base and how you might fit into our founding team. School Office: 0151 546 3140
