What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible Specialist Learning Support Assistant to work primarily with deaf young people.This post is based in the Sensory Service Resource Provisionfor Key Stage 3 and 4 students at St Clere’s School.
Primarily you will provide learning support for deaf pupils providing access to lesson content and materials in mainstream classes. You will also carry out small group intervention sessions within the Additional Resource Provision, under the guidance of a Specialist teacher and may be asked to support students during extracurricular activities when required.
GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above is essential. British Sign Language at level 2 is desirable. Experience in working with young people with hearing/sensory loss and British Sign Language at Level 2is desirable, however candidates with a willingness to undertake training will be considered as school-based training is offered, and further professional training may be available.
