What skills and experience we're looking for

Experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age, or individuals of any age with significant special educational needs.

Ability to use ICT effectively to support learning.

Understanding of relevant policies, codes of practice and legislation.

General understanding of curriculum and basic learning programmes or strategies.

Basic understanding of child development and learning, including how these may be affected by autism.

Ability to relate well to children and adults.

Ability to work constructively as part of a team and understand classroom roles and responsibilities.

Ability to observe, record and provide clear feedback about learning and progress.

Ability to remain calm, follow guidance and respond consistently in challenging situations.
