- This position may be offered at TA3 range (SCP 7-17). If the successful applicant is working towards Level 2 BSL, TA2 rate will be paid until completion of the course.
What skills and experience we're looking for
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Teaching Assistant at Cherry Orchard Primary School. The successful applicant will work to support the needs of a child with a hearing impairment.
It is essential that the post holder has: iBSL or Signature level 2 in BSL. (If you are working towards this qualification, please mention this in your application)
Skills and Knowledge: It is essential that the postholder has: • The ability to use British Sign Language to communicate with a deaf child • The ability to use their own initiative in effective problem solving. • Confidence to present and model best practice using BSL to support the inclusion of the deaf child. • The ability to enable the independence of the deaf child and the development of their self-esteem.
