Sports Coach job summary
Our PE & Sports Coach will play a pivotal dual role within Apley Wood Primary Academy. You will deliver high‑quality PE lessons and provide professional development for teaching staff, while also leading enrichment activities, games, and sports provision during break and lunchtime. A key part of the role includes organising school games, competitions, and local sports partnership events.
This position requires initiative, strong organisation, and a passion for maximising opportunities to improve childrens physical well‑being through lessons, structured play, clubs, and wider sporting engagement. We are looking for someone excited to lead and elevate all aspects of PE and sport, helping us continue to build on our strong reputation for sporting excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver the majority of PE lessons across the school, from Early Years to Key Stage 2.
Support and develop teaching staff in planning and delivering high quality PE.
Lead breaktime and lunchtime sports provision, ensuring engaging and inclusive activities.
Organise school sports events, competitions, and partnership activities.
Contribute to the strategic leadership of PE across the academy.
Promote a positive, active culture that supports childrens physical development and well‑being.
