What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Subject Lead - Physics to join our team!

Our Academy opened in September 2013 with 120 students in Year 7 and has grown year on year with our Sixth Form opening in September 2018 and our founding cohort completing prestigious and exciting university courses last September.

Through love, nurture and a rigorous academic focus, our vision is to support every child and help them to achieve their full potential, becoming model citizens and future leaders. All students are welcome with us, regardless of starting point, need or complexity. We are totally inclusive and believe that all students here will ‘Climb the STAIRS to Greatness’ and reach our two end goals of getting their dream job and becoming a model citizen. We are unapologetically ambitious for all of our students. We put in place support and stilts to help every student meet our high expectations rather than ever lowering the bar.

We are delighted that you are considering joining our clever, committed and kind staff team in our relentless pursuit of the very best outcomes both academic and beyond, for the young people of South London. 11 years into our journey, with 2 Outstanding Ofsted inspections and some excellent outcomes secured, we remain just as committed to our ethos of continual improvement as we were when we first opened. Of everything, we are most proud of the aspirational and resilient young people leaving us who go on to thrive in purposeful and challenging further education.

What the school offers its staff

In joining our team, you can expect a united, caring and sociable staff body, an SLT committed to making our school a rewarding and sustainable place to work and a commitment to your development meaning the highest quality CPD and weekly coaching.

This is an exciting time to join a successful and popular department with students. We have a strong, centrally planned and well-resourced curriculum and a large, well-established and supportive team. We are looking forward to securing great grades for our Y11 and Y13 students this year after some brilliant outcomes previously and we strive to achieve GCSE and A-Level results that put us in the top 5% of all FFT schools with no disadvantage gap. We teach a rigorous curriculum which gives our students access to the most powerful knowledge, with 50% of our students taking Separate Sciences at GCSE and 14 A-Level Science classes. Our students have gone on to study Science at places such as Oxford, Cambridge and Kings College London.

We welcome visits from prospective candidates who want to find out a bit more.

Commitment to safeguarding

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.

Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
