What skills and experience we're looking for

The school wishes to appoint a dynamic and innovative teacher of Design and Technology to lead the Design Technology Department.

The Subject Leader will be able to drive curriculum development from a clear vision, through collaborative planning to achieve high outcomes and positive engagement. They will have the ability to motivate and inspire staff and pupils alike and possess the necessary drive and determination to continue to develop the department.

All students study Design Technology, Food and Nutrition, and Textiles at KS3 and consistently high numbers opt to continue with a DT subject for GCSE study. At Post 16, the AQA Design Technology: Product Design A-Level and the WJEC Level 3 Food Science and Nutrition qualification are taught. Staff in the department are committed to working with engaging resources to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding of the students they teach.
