Subject Leader of Music job summary
We are looking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Subject Leader of Music.
This is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled, experienced teacher of Music to lead the Belvedere Academy's hugely successful and national award winning Music department on the next stage of our journey as we continue to enhance the musical lives of all our pupils, embedding a lifelong love of the Arts. Currently, our Music department offers a fantastic range of enrichment opportunities available to all our pupils who regularly perform at the most prestigious venues in Liverpool including its two cathedrals and who represent the academy through their professionalism in terms of public performance and academy productions, as well as a biannual music tour. With the addition of a music aptitude test to our admissions procedures in Yr7, where 10% of students will be chosen for their potential ability in Music, we envisage the department, the provision and the participation will go from strength to strength in the future. All pupils study Music throughout our three-year key stage three and Music remains a popular choice at GCSE and A level. Large numbers of pupils also study in private lessons with our peripatetic staff and get involved in a wide range of enrichment activities.
If you are a highly skilled musician who is passionate about bringing music to all our pupils, a collaborative worker who is excited by working within a curriculum area which includes creative and performing arts, an outstanding teacher who can engage all pupils in music and creativity, and, above all, an energetic and creative force to be reckoned with, then this is the role for you.
