About Fosse Way School

School type
Academy, ages 3 to 19
School size
226 pupils enrolled
Age range
3 to 19

Thank you for expressing an interest in working at Fosse Way School.

Fosse Way School is a special school located in Radstock, just south of Bath on the edge of the Mendip hills. It is extremely popular and has 220 pupils on roll. Our pupils have moderate or severe learning difficulties, with many having communication and language difficulties, including a diagnosis of autism. Due to its popularity, it has been oversubscribed for a number of years. The school worked closely with an active parent support group which was successful in its bid to set up a new school – The Mendip School.

Fosse Way School is a member of The Partnership Trust, which is a multi-academy trust.

Fosse Way School runs the Specialist Autism Support Service a service commissioned by Bath and North East Somerset Local Authority to support autistic children and young adults up to the age of 25 across the county. We also run the local SEND network and behavior service. We were the first school in the UK to set up Project Search, a work-based supported internship, in conjunction with Bath Royal United Hospital. On site we run our training café Longfellows where students are able to take part in valuable work based learning opportunities. Fosse Way also has a residential provision for up to 12 students.

We would welcome applications from people who may currently be working in mainstream schools. A full training and support programme is offered to those who may not have previously worked in a special school.

If you would like to find out more about Fosse Way please visit our website or come in and have a tour of the school.

If you decide to apply, may I thank you for your time in putting your application together and the interest you have shown in Fosse Way.
