TITLE: TA2 Horticultural and Outdoor Learning Teaching Assistant

SCHOOL: St. James Church of England Primary School

REPORTING TO: Headteacher

GRADE: NJC04 – NJC06 (£26,016 - £26,847 per annum, pro rata)

CONTRACT: Permanent

HOURS: 10 hours per week


PURPOSE OF POST: To work under the instruction/guidance of teacher/senior staff and to support the development of the school’s bespoke horticultural and outdoor learning programmes of study for all pupils. To assist pupils’ with access to the appropriate programme of study. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside in the school grounds.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:

  • To have a love of the outdoor environment and a good practical knowledge of horticulture to guide and lead children in their learning.

  • We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and talented teaching assistant to join our dedicated staff team.


    We require a teaching assistant who can provide exciting and stimulating learning opportunities and support the child throughout all aspects of school life. Applicants must be committed to further enhancing the very high standards which already exist in the school and be patient and kind to support the child/ren in their transition. The successful candidate will also be expected to make a valuable contribution to whole school development and to enriching the experiences of our pupils and will be fully supported by the school and the Trust.
