An exciting opportunity has arisen for Class Teacher to join Leycroft Academy.

Leycroft Academy is a highly specialist primary school dedicated to supporting pupils with a diagnosed Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and all have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). We are committed to providing a personalised, evidence‑informed education that enables every child to achieve their full potential, whatever their starting point.

Our pupils present with significant, persistent and complex social communication and interaction differences, which have a profound impact on their ability to access learning and the general school offer.

The Class Teacher - will actively supporting school activities where required, including attending educational trips, extra-curricular activities and parents’ evenings, which may require some out-of-hours availability.

The successful candidate will:

  • be an enthusiastic and keen to learn - this would suit an innovative teacher or a trainee seeking to gain experience.

  • be passionate about developing children as independent learners and thinkers.

  • Eager to develop excellent teaching practice and create a learning environment where all pupils can achieve their best.

  • be committed to making learning experiences memorable and fun. 

  • be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and can work effectively as part of a team. 

  • be organised, professional and proficient, with appropriate IT skills.

  • be working with the SENCO to ensure pupils with SEND are appropriately supported. 

  • be working with the DSL and their deputies to ensure safeguarding is promoted.

  • Be working with the designated teacher for LAC to support LAC and previously LAC.

  • Hold a Batchelors Degree and QTS qualification
