Norland CE School is part of Calderdale Village Schools Federation (a Federation of 2 schools with St Mary's CE School, Millbank). Both Norland and St Mary's are half form entry schools with 4 classes in each school and have a culture where pupils develop a strong and positive attitude to learning. As a Federation, schools work closely to plan together and limit workload through shared practice and a simple shared language of effective teaching and learning. Curriculum schemes of work are provided and teachers adapt them however they like in order to meet the same objective, so supporting workload, whilst giving support, autonomy to teach and encouraging creativity, There is also an opportunity to engage in specialist teaching of a subject area across both schools where teachers wish to do so.
