Teacher of Design and Technology job summary
Do you want to be part of a developing and progressive team that takes pride in delivering creative, innovative and enjoyable lessons to equip students with the key skills for tomorrow's creative employees. Then the post of Design and Technology Teacher (Product Design) at Shrewsbury Academy is for you.
We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and highly effective teacher of Design & Technology with a core responsibility/skill set in Product Design. You will have exceptional subject knowledge, a desire to grow the subject within the school curriculum, have a vision of how the subject can evolve in the future and have a proven track record for achieving academic progress through key stage 3 and onto key stage 4. Alongside all of this you will demonstrate a desire to support students through engaging Schemes of Work and Outstanding teaching.
The successful candidate will:
• Be able to teach KS3/KS4 DT (formerly known as product design).
• Have a vision for the future of the subject.
• Demonstrate high quality teaching.
• Be able to use ICT/CAD/CAM in all aspects of your work and teaching.
• Have excellent administration skills and an ability to meet deadlines.
• Have the ability to fulfill the requirements of a form tutor.
• Have good interpersonal skills.
• Have excellent communication skills and an ability to relate to people at all levels.
• Embrace new technologies and ideas that enhance learning
