Teacher of Design and Technology job summary

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, committed and well-qualified teacher of Design and Technology.

As an academy, we are over-subscribed and consistently achieve some of the highest results in Sandwell. In our most recent Ofsted of February 2020 the school was judged to be good with outstanding features. We are extremely proud of being one of few secondary schools in the country to have been graded as outstanding for behaviour and attitudes under the new Ofsted framework. We have an excellent location being less than 15 miles from the centre of Birmingham whilst having excellent national links via both the M5 and the M6.

As an enthusiastic and committed teacher, you would join a welcoming, highly trained, and very supportive Design and Technology department. The department is managed by the Head of Design and Technology. The Design and Technology department has great experience in successfully mentoring both ITT trainees and ECTs.

The Design and Technology department is housed in a dedicated area of the school. Each classroom/ workshop is well resourced.

Wood Green Academy is a large 11-19 multicultural comprehensive school set in Wednesbury in the heart of the Black Country.
