What skills and experience we're looking for
We have an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of Design Technology to join Katharine Lady Berkeley’s School from 1st September 2024. This is a permanent contract, which is suitable for both ECTs and applicants with previous teaching experience, to teach Design Technology from KS3 to KS5.
We offer Design and Technology to all students at Key Stage 3, and as option subjects at GCSE and A Level. The Department has a wealth of experience in using traditional and modern technologies that support the fabulous work produced. Support is provided by three technicians.
The successful candidate will have:
- a passion for education;
- strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- the ability to inspire and motivate others;
- a clear understanding of the nature of and how to promote effective learning;
- a track record of successful student outcomes across the Key Stages;
- a commitment to comprehensive education and supporting every child to achieve high standards;
- energy, resilience, a sense of humour and the determination to see things through.

We are a large comprehensive school of 1525 students with 265 in the Sixth Form.
