What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint a highly talented and innovative, qualified teacher of Design Technology to join our friendly and supportive team. You will have a confident understanding of the curriculum and the ability to inspire excellent learning. The department offers Product Design to KS4 and Engineering to KS4 & 5 both of which are very popular with students. The ideal candidate should be able to offer one or both subjects.
This position provides an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher to develop their passion for learning and create a positive and inspiring learning environment for our students. This position will suit both newly qualified and experienced candidates, and is ideal for recent entrants to the profession. As a school we have a fabulous CPD offer to support colleagues at whatever point in their career they are from our ITT to our senior leaders. We also offer our staff a supportive welfare package including, but not limited to, access to physiotherapy, nurse & doctor appointments and counselling.
What the school offers its staff
Phoenix is a multi-cultural 11-19 secondary school, serving 1,986 students in the north of West Bromwich close to the border with Walsall in the West Midlands. Opened in September 2010, as a result of the merger of two local schools, Phoenix has established itself as one of the highest performing schools in the area, an accolade achieved through commitment to continually improving the quality of teaching and learning and the provision of an exciting and dynamic learning experience for students.
Over recent years examination results have been improving rapidly and 2019 validated progress measure was +0.08 (FFT). This has been maintained and the 2022 published VA shows that we are continuing to show positive progress despite the challenges of recent years. Phoenix is a school that aspires to turn every child’s dream into reality; believes that there is no limit to what can be achieved and succeeds through passion, commitment and determination
