Teacher of Design Technology job summary
Tolworth Girls’ School & Sixth Form is a World Class School with a strong culture of ambition, creativity and high achievement. We are seeking a well qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of Design & Technology to join our thriving and innovative Faculty.
This is an excellent opportunity for a committed practitioner to contribute to a successful team that values creativity, collaboration and high-quality teaching. We are looking for a teacher with a genuine passion for their subject and the ability to bring learning to life through engaging and imaginative approaches. We actively promote Design & Technology beyond the classroom and welcome candidates who can enrich our extra curricular offer.
About the Role
Our ideal candidate will be a specialist in the technical principles traditionally associated with Resistant Materials, including timber and metal-based materials, polymers, and electronic and mechanical systems. We currently deliver Product Design and Food Preparation & Nutrition across KS3, KS4 and KS5. Students in Years 7 and 8 follow a carousel model and complete two projects per year, so you may also teach across different areas of DT. We currently follow AQA GCSE Product Design and AQA A Level Product Design, and the ability to teach up to Key Stage 5 is highly desirable.
This is a full-time, permanent position starting in September 2026. The post is suitable for an ECT, and we offer a well-structured and supportive induction programme.
If you are a passionate teacher who wants to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and supportive school community, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Closing date: 9am - 13 April 2026
