What the school offers its staff
The school is able to support a candidate who wishes to teach a second subject such as Maths or may wish to develop a pastoral role at KS5
For September 2023, we are seeking to appoint an outstanding Economics Teacher to join our high performing department at Avanti House Secondary School. The position will be suitable for both a newly qualified and a more experienced teacher. The successful applicant will be able to deliver all aspects of Economics at GCSE and A level.
Avanti House Secondary School is one of the top performing schools in the country based on GCSE outcomes and progress and are looking for the applicant to contribute to the further success of our department. In 2022 90% of students achieved grade 5+ and 50% of students gained 7+ in Economics GCSE. This, along with the quality of teaching and learning within our department, is why our Sixth Form has seen rapid growth, with Economics being a popular choice at KS5 with 65% of students gaining the top grades. We look to recruit a teacher that can play an active role in the academic and extra-curricular life of a lively, positive and high achieving school and continue to maintain these high standards by reinforcing our expectations to achieve academic excellence. It would also be desirable if the applicant would be willing to assist in running student led events such as young enterprise or other national competitions to highlight the extraordinary talents of the students who study Economics.
Avanti House is a secondary school 11-19 school that opened in 2012. Currently there are 1232 students with a Sixth Form of 320. Avanti schools are Hindu-designated faith schools. However, all staff members at Avanti House School will not be required to present themselves from any specific faith background.

Students gained excellent results in a wide range of subjects across the curriculum and many have progressed into our Sixth Form.
