What skills and experience we're looking for
Plympton Academy is seeking a committed Teacher of English to join our team and make a real difference from September 2026, for a fixed term period of 12 months until 31st August 2027.
You will join a committed team of English Teachers and will be instrumental in providing an outstanding English education at the Academy. The successful candidate will be a creative and dynamic practitioner that enthuses and engages students of all abilities and ages setting high expectations to support them in reaching their full potential.
You will:
- Be passionate about teaching and learning and transforming the life chances of our students
- Deliver outstanding classroom practice with high expectations for achievements and behaviour
- Be able to plan and deliver a creative and stimulating curriculum
- Be an aspiring leader of learning and happy to grasp exciting CPD opportunities
- Contribute to the values, ethos and the development of our schools
About You:
- A qualified teacher with QTS.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English.
- Resilient, creative and able to adapt teaching to meet individual needs.
- Believes in the potential of every student and is committed to removing barriers to learning.
- A strong communicator who can build positive relationships with young people, colleagues and families.
