Millfield Primary School, part of the Enrich Learning Trust, is looking for an enthusiastic, hard working and dedicated teacher to join our expanding Reception provision full time.
We would consider flexible/part time for the right candidate.
We are a primary school with 260 pupils and a 16 place Specialist Resource Base in Norfolk. We are a rapidly developing school that has a strong community of dedicated staff who live out our vision and gives every child the chance to succeed and be happy. Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching:
- Plan and deliver engaging, play-based learning in line with the EYFS framework
- Create stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments, making use of the school’s extensive outdoor space
- Promote early communication, literacy, and numeracy skills
- Maintain good behaviour by following the school’s pupil behaviour policy and procedures
- Ensure punctuality and establish a purposeful working atmosphere during all learning activities
- Maintain excellent classroom management with due regard to health and safety policies
- Set appropriate and challenging work for all pupils
- Identify and work appropriately with ‘special educational needs’ pupils and ‘academically more able’ students
Assessment, recording and reporting:
- Observe, assess, and record children’s development using EYFS assessment methods
- Track progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs
- Support smooth transition into Key Stage 1
- Carry out assessment programmes, as agreed by the school
- Complete pupil reports in line with school policy
- Attend parents’ evenings as required and keep parents informed about their child’s performance and future targets
Child Development and Welfare
- Provide a safe, caring, and inclusive environment
- Support children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
School Ethos and Community
- Uphold the school values of Courage, Ambition, Respect, Excellence and Spirit
- Contribute to the school’s vision
- Support enrichment activities, including outdoor learning and school events
The teacher will be part of the school’s appraisal scheme. They will have a phase leader who will set agreed targets for the year. The phase leader will monitor and review performance, including classroom teaching. The school will support the continuing professional development of all staff, to ensure that their expertise is being kept up to date. and will:
- Attend and contribute to team and full staff meetings.
- In relation to the school’s strategic plan, contribute towards the goals and targets.
- Maintain a professional interest in educational initiatives and developments.
- Undertake any other duties that are within the scope of the post, as determined by the Headteacher.
