What skills and experience we're looking for

Qualifications:

•Qualified Teacher

  • A good degree in History or related subject or a Joint Honours in History and English
  • PGCE (or equivalent)

Experience and Knowledge:

•Experience of teaching History at KS3 and KS4

  • Have experience of teaching students of different abilities
  • Be knowledgeable in relation to current developments and issues in History teaching
  • Be knowledgeable in relation to current thinking in terms of learning and teaching.

Abilities and Skills:

•Be able to make work challenging and exciting for students of all abilities

•Be able to communicate effectively with students of all abilities

•Be effective classroom managers and practitioners

•Be efficient at planning and organisation

•Be able to manage the assessment of students against a given criteria

•Be able to use data for monitoring, tracking and evaluation

•Be able to self-review

•Ability to make a positive contribution to our Church Ethos

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic, hard-working and talented History teacher who would be able to undertake the effective teaching of the subject across KS3 to KS5, with the ability to teach some KS3 English, starting in September 2026. The successful applicant will be able to stimulate student curiosity, have a keen interest in and enjoyment of the subject and be able to actively develop confidence in our students. This role is suitable for ECTs.
