What skills and experience we're looking for
- Hold an appropriate teaching certificate and Qualified Teacher Status
- Hold a recognised degree (or equivalent) with a good classification in a relevant subject
- Hold an unrelated degree but relevant professional experience and an SKE
- Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for teaching your subject
- Detailed knowledge of current curriculum and pedagogical developments in the teaching of your subject and the wider curriculum
- Ability to teach your subject area up to Key Stage 5
- Desire to further raise overall achievement in your subject area through promoting the highest standards of teaching and learning
- A flexible approach to the teaching of your subject that seeks to promote the learning opportunities of all students and to secure the highest possible levels of achievement
- Demonstrate a commitment to following the school’s principles of teaching, learning and assessment
- Have an effective approach to behaviour management, setting the highest standards and behavioural expectations
- Have sound skills as a classroom practitioner
- Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities
- Willing to take responsibility for professional learning and fully engage in the school’s CPD
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents and colleagues

This is a fabulous opportunity to join our amazing Mathematics team whose work in the last few years has seen their Progress 8 score rise to +0.8 (2019) putting the results for Mathematics in the top 4% of schools nationally. You will join a highly successful department that has achieved excellent, and continually improving, results at KS4 and KS5.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, well qualified and ambitious person to teach Mathematics across the full ability range at Corfe Hills School. The ability to teach to GCSE is required. As a classroom practitioner you would need to demonstrate exceptional classroom practice and be able to motivate and inspire students. This will involve 100% commitment to our vision which is captured in our strapline “High Expectations | Exceptional Individuals”.
