Since Ely College and Bishop Laney Sixth Form joined the CMAT family of schools in 2016 we have been recognised by the Cambridge Evening News Education Awards as the Secondary School of the Year in 2018, in 2019 we were inspected by Ofsted and judged to be Good overall with Outstanding leadership and management.  We admitted our largest intake of Year 7 students in 2021 with 270 students joining us; and the confidence that the community has in our excellent pastoral care and quality of teaching means that we will be admitting a further 300 students in September 2022.

In order to meet this growth in our student numbers, we are currently a college of over 1,400 and are projected to grow to over 1,600 within the next two years, we are embarking on an ambitious recruitment drive to appoint subject specialists with the values that we feel will be a superb fit with our existing staff.
