Teacher of Maths job summary

The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Teacher of Maths to join our dedicated team at Abraham Moss Community School. The core purpose of the role will be to teach Maths across Key Stages 3 and 4 and demonstrating good practice in raising standards of achievement.

This role is based at Abraham Moss Community School, while being advertised under the wider Dean Trust Group as part of our growing specialist provision across Manchester. Our pupils often present with SEMH needs, anxiety, school avoidance and disrupted educational experiences. Your role is not just to teach Maths, it’s to rebuild confidence, re-engage learners and create consistent, positive routines that allow pupils to succeed. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver engaging, accessible Maths lessons
  • Adapt teaching for SEMH and SEND needs
  • Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils
  • Work alongside mentors and support staff to personalise learning
  • Track and support pupil progress in a meaningful, manageable way
  • Maintain a calm, structured learning environment
  • Teach Maths throughout the school, working as a member of the Maths team under the direction of the Head of Department. Teaching at key stage 3 and 4 includes a contribution to intervention strategy
