Teacher of PE/Sport and Maths job summary
We require a well-qualified Mathematics/Sports Teacher who has an abundance of enthusiasm for teaching, learning and the progression of young people. The successful candidate will be energetic, dynamic and be able to thrive independently and as part of a team in our well established and successful departments. This post would suit an ECT and as your professional development is important to us, there are highly supportive induction programmes and CPD opportunities during your time at the school. This post is suitable for a PE teacher with an A level or specific aptitude in Maths. Maths teachers with an interest in teaching Sport are encouraged to apply.
Our current Maths team offers a range of extra-curricular support sessions to ensure students reach their full potential, and if successful we would hope that you would share this ethic. Budmouth Academy has a highly successful 6th form and you will have the opportunity to teach post 16 at A Level Maths and Further Maths.
Our Sport courses are popular at the school and we offer GCSE PE or Cambridge Nation in KS4 which leads on to A Level PE or the Extended Diploma in Sport Science (BTEC L3) in KS5. The department has an outstanding reputation for sports leadership and students have the opportunity to complete the Community and Higher Sports Leader Awards in Years 12/13. We also run a bespoke and comprehensive Sports’ Leaders award for pupils in years 7-11. The Department runs an extensive extra-curricular programme which is fully committed to entering teams into both local and national competitions. Budmouth Academy Weymouth has a strong reputation for sporting excellence and providing opportunities that inspire and develop our students. A commitment to an extended working day and a full extra-curricular programme, in either Maths or Sport is essential.
