An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a successful Physical Education department, in a forward thinking, high achieving school, which focuses on raising the achievement of all students.
We are looking to appoint a passionate and well-qualified teacher of PE to join this successful department in delivering PE. The ideal candidate would be able to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially KS5. At Key Stage 4 students have an option to complete Edexcel GCSE or OCR Sport Studies alongside a Sports Leaders qualification and core PE. In Key Stage 5 we offer Ext' Cert' L3 BTEC Sport.
The candidate must be:

- Creative and imaginative.
- A team player and have a strong commitment to extra-curricular sport.
We are a stand-alone academy, which is proud to have retained its identity at the heart of the community, but we have also begun working more extensively with neighbouring schools. Our recent Ofsted inspection, in March 2026, recognised that ‘Leaders are supportive of staff and consider their workload and wellbeing. Staff feel well supported by leaders…Pupils behave well across the school. Leaders have created a positive learning environment…Pupils are safe and happy at Brighouse High School.’
Inspectors also reported that ‘Pupils, including sixth-form students, value the positive relationships that they have with staff.’

Our recent Ofsted inspection, in February 2022, recognised that ‘There is an acute awareness of what pupils need to support them in their stage of learning or employment. This runs through the school from Year 7 to the sixth form. Leaders make sure all pupils, including those with SEND, access an ambitious curriculum that stimulates their minds and promotes curiosity.
