Teacher of Physical Education job summary

To cover a period of maternity leave, we are seeking to appoint a temporary, passionate, and committed teacher to join our thriving PE department. Teaching PE to students of all abilities across KS3 and KS4, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of our young people.

The PE department delivers an effective and aspirational curriculum designed to inspire life-long enjoyment of, and participation in, exercise and physical activity. The department is fortunate to have access to a wide range of high-quality facilities, including a large astro-turf, MUGA, sports hall, swimming pool, fitness suite, dance studio, activity studio and extensive playing fields. The team consists of seven members of staff, including several who hold whole-school leadership responsibilities. We also offer a broad and well-attended extra-curricular programme, and the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to this. The ability to teach GCSE PE and/or BTEC Sport would be advantageous, although not essential.

The successful candidate will benefit from regular CPD, support from a friendly and collegiate department, and opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across Chorus Trust.

This role plays a vital part in ensuring the continued improvement of outcomes for all students.
