About this Role

Apollo Centre, part of the Solihull Alternative Provision Multi Academy Trust (SAPMAT) is a Nurturing, Restorative, Sustainable, SEND-Friendly Primary Alternative Provision. We focus on creating a nurturing and restorative environment for students with diverse needs striving to make a positive impact on a child's whole development.

Location: Apollo Centre, Lyndon Rd, Solihull B92 7QW

We encourage educators who enjoy innovation and differentiation in their teaching to join us.

We focus on Well-being and Social-Emotional Learning:

Supportive Environment: The program prioritises student well-being and social-emotional learning, creating a nurturing and trauma-informed environment. This can be fulfilling for those who want to make a positive impact on a child's whole development.

Collaboration and Relationships: The restorative practice approach emphasises building relationships and resolving conflict constructively. This can foster a more collaborative and supportive school community.

We cater to diverse needs:

SEND Expertise: The curriculum is SEND-friendly, and the school offers inclusive teaching practices. This allows you to develop your expertise in working with students with diverse needs, which can be both challenging and rewarding.

Bespoke Curriculum: The bespoke curriculum allows for creativity and tailoring lessons to individual student needs while encouraging the aspects of PACE: (Play, Attention, Curiosity, and Exploration) to encourage active learning through play-based and child-centred approaches.

We encourage professional development and growth:

Small Class Sizes: Small class sizes allow for more individualised attention to both students and teachers. You'll have the opportunity to provide more focused support and receive more professional development opportunities.

Staff Wellbeing: We care about the wellbeing of our staff by creating a positive work environment, offering professional development opportunities across the academy.

We want to make a difference:

Sustainable Focus: The school promotes environmental awareness and action, which is a powerful way to inspire students and contribute to a better future.

Alternative Provision: Working in alternative provision allows you to make a significant impact on the lives of students who may be struggling in traditional settings.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A clear, consistent and relational approach to working with high-tariff and vulnerable students
  • A passion for pupil progress
  • High expectations and skill in raising standards (behaviour, attendance, academic progress)
  • A vision for obtaining the best outcomes for our students.

The Academy leadership team is determined to give our students the best opportunities possible to become successful, responsible citizens with the best life chances. This is an exciting opportunity for you to progress in an aspirational, therapeutic and innovative environment with students who need you.

If you are a team player who is interested in working with young people in an innovative classroom environment, perhaps with previous experience in an educational environment we would welcome an application from you.

In return, SAPMAT will offer you:

  • The chance to make a real difference in the lives of our children
