Shireland CBSO Academy is an exciting new school which opened to Years 7 and 12 in September 2023 and is the first state school in the country to have a partnership with a professional orchestra. Based in Providence Place, West Bromwich, the Academy works in partnership with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) and serves all of Sandwell and the wider West Midlands. The Academy is for all students who have a passion or talent for music – they do not necessarily need to already play an instrument.
