Teacher of Science

Permanent, full-time.

Required from 1 September 2026

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, self-motivated and forward-thinking Teacher of Science with the ability to teach Chemistry and Physics at KS3 to KS5. We welcome applications from those without prior A level experience with the knowledge and ability to learn quickly to develop skills in this area.

This role is suitable for a newly qualified ECT Teacher or an experienced practitioner.

The Science Faculty at St Katherine’s is a supportive and dedicated team, committed to developing their pedagogy and sharing the very best practice across the team. The science labs are situated together and the department is well supported with two full time technicians. Science is a popular subject at St Katherine’s and over half of our students choose to study triple science at GCSE. The Science team seeks to deliver lessons which challenge all students by using a full variety of teaching and learning strategies. The student lies at the heart of the assessment process and we use a wide range of formative, evaluative and summative approaches to support them in their learning. We would welcome a colleague with a passion for science teaching who loves to see scientists of all abilities enjoying their science, learning actively and making rapid progress. We provide many enrichment opportunities based around our STEM agenda to inspire and motivate scientists and engineers for the future.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about the importance of science in the curriculum and committed to providing students with engaging and challenging learning opportunities that allow them to reach their full potential. QTS essential.
