Teacher of Spanish job summary
Over the past year, under the leadership of Stephen Huntington, small daily steps towards big changes have been happening at Smith’s Wood Academy (part of Fairfax Multi-Academy Trust).
Steve’s clear trajectory for the Academy has resulted in strategies being put in place, all of which are underpinned by the Academy’s values: Ambitious, Respectful, Resilient.
The results speak for themselves:
- Attendance has increased 5% since last academic year, this is one of the most improved schools for attendance in the Midlands.
- Persistent absence decreased by 10%
- Suspensions have halved this academic year; achieved through a focus on behaviour for learning.
- Progress at Year 11 in-year predicted over half a grade improvement.
Now you have an opportunity to be a vital part of Smith’s Wood Academy’s journey. In return for your vocational passion to teach and develop students, you will be rewarded with being part of the transformation of the Academy and knowing that you have accomplished the Trust’s mission to “Enrich Lives and Transform Futures”.
