What skills and experience we're looking for

Holyport College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join our PE and Games department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for sport and working with young people to contribute to a thriving and ambitious sporting programme within a successful secondary boarding school.

The role would suit a wide range of applicants, including graduates considering a future career in teaching, Early Career Teachers seeking their first post, experienced coaches, or suitably qualified individuals with a strong sporting background and enthusiasm for education. Academic PE teaching experience is not essential; however, applicants should have the ability to inspire, coach and support students across a broad range of sports and age groups.

Sport plays a central role in life at Holyport College. Our major team sports include football, rugby, hockey, netball, cricket and athletics, alongside a growing wider co-curricular programme. The College has also recently launched its own rowing programme, and we would particularly welcome candidates with experience or interest in rowing as well.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and committed to developing young people through sport, whilst contributing fully to the life of a busy and ambitious school community. If you are passionate about coaching, teaching and inspiring young people through sport, and would enjoy working in a supportive and forward-thinking environment, we would love to hear from you.

Accommodation may be available for candidates willing to undertake boarding duties.

What the school offers its staff

The College has two additional weeks holiday per year compared to the average state school: our October half term is two weeks long and our Christmas holiday is three weeks. The College site is closed between Christmas and New Year.

The College’s full time hours are 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 3.45pm on Friday. Part-time hours will be considered for the right candidate. Accommodation may also be available for candidates willing to undertake boarding duties.

Holyport College is committed to staff wellbeing and to ensuring that all colleagues can maintain anappropriate work/life balance. Our staff are listened to and valued.
