What skills and experience we're looking for

This role is designed for a dedicated educator who combines excellent classroom practice with strategic leadership. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality education while driving curriculum development and ensuring the safety and progress of every pupil.

Main purpose of the job

• Work as a member of our team to ensure a high standard of education for pupils

• To be an excellent classroom practitioner and lead by example at all times

• To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children within the school

• Undertake duties of a class teacher as specified within the school

• Work with colleagues to monitor children’s progress and attainment, and continue to raise standards • Be responsible for leading and coordinating curriculum development and key stage assessments

• Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school

• Develop effective professional relationships with all key stakeholders including colleagues/parents/partners external bodies and the wider community

• Demonstrate consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct, acting within the statutory frameworks which set out their professional duties and responsibilities

• Ensure high standards of teaching and learning across all National Curriculum subject areas through effective planning and delivery, in order to raise attainment and improve outcomes for all pupils

Our Lady of Sorrows is situated in Armthorpe, three miles East of Doncaster City Centre. Armthorpe is a growing village which is very proud of its rich mining heritage. The school has grown considerably in recent years, with 214 children now on roll. The majority of the children live in Armthorpe, with only a few families travelling from neighbouring villages. We are distinctively Christian in our ethos and outlook and are inclusive of all. At the heart of our school are our Christian values, rooted in the Catholic tradition.
