Teacher / Phase Leader job summary
Mayflower Community Academy are looking for an inspiring and dedicated Classroom Teacher / Phase Leader to join our dynamic Key Stage 1 team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teacher to take on a leadership role and make a significant impact on both the academic and personal development of our young learners.
In addition to the duties of a Classroom Teacher, the successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, teaching and learning within KS1; to be accountable for standards across KS1; to liaise with other key stage leaders where necessary; to ensure continuity and progression throughout the curriculum.
Phase Leader Responsibilities:
- Lead the Key Stage 1 team, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement the Key Stage 1 curriculum, aligning it with the school’s values, vision, and educational goals.
- Monitor and track the progress of students in Key Stage 1, using data to inform decisions and raise standards.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development for colleagues within the Key Stage 1 team.
- Organize and lead phase meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaborative planning.
- Work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and ensure Key Stage 1 is consistently improving.
- Ensure the effective and smooth running of day-to-day operations within Key Stage 1, including monitoring behaviour, welfare, and safeguarding.
- Play an active role in school-wide initiatives, contributing to the broader school community and culture.
