Teacher + SENDCO job summary

Tyne and Wear Learning Trust are seeking to appoint an outstanding and enthusiastic Teacher + SENDCO to join their school, Marine Park Primary.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting our pupils to reach their full potential, being an exceptional classroom practitioner who is passionate about inclusion and committed to ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive. The successful candidate will lead SEND provision across the school whilst maintaining a teaching commitment and will play a key role in ensuring that pupils with additional needs achieve the very best outcomes.

The successful candidate will be able to work flexibly across the school and will have a particular interest in supporting children at the early stages of their education. Experience of, or an enthusiasm for, working within EYFS and/or Key Stage 1 would be welcomed, alongside a willingness to develop their practice and contribute to the wider life of the school.

The successful candidate will:

• Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven track record of securing excellent outcomes for pupils.
• Hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO).
• Have experience of leading or coordinating SEND provision within a primary setting.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
• Have experience of working effectively with pupils who have a wide range of additional needs.
• Be able to support and challenge colleagues to deliver high quality inclusive practice.
• Build strong partnerships with families, external agencies and other professionals.
• Be committed to securing the best possible outcomes for all children.
