What skills and experience we're looking for
Abbeyfield Primary Academy are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated teacher who can establish a high quality, safe learning experience underpinned by high expectations for our pupils. The role is to cover a maternity leave which starts in February 2026, but there may be some flexibility to start earlier depending upon funding and the successful candidate. Part-time working would be considered.
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Has experience of planning, teaching & assessment in upper Key Stage 2 (ideally Y6)
- has a secure understanding of the primary curriculum and can differentiate and adapt teaching for groups and individual pupils
- is resilient, caring and compassionate, treating children and colleagues with respect as individuals
- has high expectations for all pupils to succeed
- is an excellent organiser and communicator with a proactive and friendly attitude
- Values diversity, equity and inclusion and has high expectations for every child and family,
- is an effective team player and can contribute to the whole school community
