Qualifications and training
- Qualified teacher status
- Evidence of professional development relevant to this role
- Undertaken an MA or further study in school leadership
Experience
- Teaching within the primary phase, including evidence of outstanding teaching
- Leadership, including during school development and/or improvement, such as subject leadership and be able to explain impact they have had on improving standards across the school
- Ability to work with the Senior Leadership Team to help deliver staff development programmes
- Implementing teaching and learning strategies to improve quality and pupil attainment
- Evidence of working effectively with parents and carers
- Team leadership, including during school development and/or improvement
- Evidence of teaching across Key Stage Two and Key Stage One
- Developing and delivering staff development programmes
Skills and knowledge
- Expert knowledge of legislation and guidance on curriculum requirements and key stage delivery
- Outstanding classroom practice, constantly showing a positive and resilient approach to pupils and staff
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Good IT skills,
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate a vision and inspire others
- Ability to build effective working relationships with staff and other stakeholders
- Recognising the importance of work-life balance and how to manage this for staff in the team
- Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures from latest Safeguarding Information (such as the DfE ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’)
- Ability to use evidenced-based research to improve standards
