About the role

Robert Wilkinson Primary Academy are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work within our Nursery class, which is a class of 3-4 year old children who will all be starting school in September 2025. The working hours for this position are 10.5 hours in the first instance, these hours will be worked during the school term time.

The hours for this role will be spilt as follows,

Monday – 11.30am – 1.30pm

Tuesday – 11.30am – 12.30pm

Wednesday 11.30am – 12.30pm

Thursday 11.30am – 2.00pm

Friday – 8.30am – 12.30pm

There may be a possibility to gain additional hours after the Easter break or as a Lunchtime supervisor or as a Wrap Around Care Assistant.

As a Teaching Assistant you will play a key role in the child’s day, you will be passionate about teaching and learning and believe in developing the true potential of all our children. You will have a calm and positive disposition, the ability to break down activities into small step by step teaching and will nurture, inspire, challenge and motivate pupils. Implementing clear boundaries and routines. You will use behaviour management in all areas around school.

The job requirements

We are looking for someone who has experience of working with children, in a supportive capacity and has good verbal communication, strong time management, organisational skills and the ability to work well as part of a team as these are all essential to this role.

You will have the ability to build a good rapport with parents and carers and the wider school community.

Ideally you will be an experienced Teaching Assistant with knowledge and understanding with regards to child development and the curriculum and how to enhance a child’s experiences and build upon their learning.
