Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) job summary

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant (Grade 3) who, under the instruction & guidance of our wonderful teaching team, can undertake work, care and support programmes to assist in managing the students & classroom, whilst ensuring that every pupil has access to learning and is achieving their full potential. This position would suit a positive, energetic, proactive team-player who is enthusiastic about making a difference!

Responsibilities include:

  • Attending to the pupils’ personal needs, and implementing related personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters
  • Undertaking programmes linked to local and national learning strategies to support pupils to achieve learning goals, recording achievement & progress and feeding back to the teacher
  • Supervising and providing particular support for pupils including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning
  • Encouraging pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
  • Creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans
