Merryfields School is a 113-place Generic Special School for children aged 4-11 years in Wolstanton, Newcastle-under-Lyme; we are part of Manor Hall Academy Trust.

The role:

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join us as soon as possible. The role is on a fixed term basis due to pupil funding ending in August 2025. You will work 32.5hrs per week, 08:30-15:45 Monday & Tuesday, 08:45-16:30 on Wednesday and 08:45-15:45 Thursday and Friday

You will be enthusiastic in meeting the needs of our pupils with learning needs. Many of our pupils have autism and can experience dysregulation requiring support through a range of strategies, and a range of communicative needs. The role will be directed by the class teacher. Although experience and qualifications are welcome, we are happy to support the right candidate to gain training an qualifications.

You will be a caring team player who will have enthusiasm, drive and a commitment to school improvement. You will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with all stakeholders.
