We are a happy and popular, single form entry, primary school, educating children between the ages of 5 and 11. Located in the charming village of Dilton Marsh, we have strong relationships with the local community and Holy Trinity Church. Our staff are dedicated to providing a safe, happy, caring, creative and nurturing learning environment, where everyone is valued as an individual and encouraged to become independent and resilient learners. Our strong Christian ethos of tolerance and respect flows through the whole school. As a founding member of Acorn Education Trust in 2014, we work closely with other schools within the Trust to provide the best possible education, opportunities and support for our young people. In November 2023, we were proud to achieve a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating in all categories, with inspectors praising our staff for their ‘high expectations for all pupils’.

As a Teaching Assistant, you must be able to work across all age ranges within our school and be prepared to work flexibly to provide cover on a regular basis and support children of all abilities, including those requiring social and emotional support, SEN support, liaising with teachers and SENCO.

  • Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Is self-motivated dedicated and consistent;
  • Enjoys working with young people and can develop good working relationships with them;
  • Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;
  • Can be a strong team player as well as use your own initiative;
  • Has a positive and flexible attitude;
  • Understands and is sympathetic to the needs of young people, including their social and emotional wellbeing;
  • Has experience of supporting children’s learning;
  • Has experience as an ELSA (advantageous);
  • Has a current First Aid or is prepared to undertake training.

We can offer the successful candidate:

  • An ambitious and vibrant place to work, with enthusiastic children and staff who are passionate about learning;
