Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our team and make a positive difference to the learning, development and wellbeing of our pupils.Working closely with the class teacher, you will support the delivery of engaging learning activities for individuals, small groups and whole-class sessions. You will help pupils access the curriculum, develop their confidence and independence, and experience a sense of achievement.The role will involve supporting literacy and numeracy activities, observing and sharing pupils’ progress with the class teacher, helping to prepare the classroom and resources, and using effective strategies to promote positive behaviour and inclusion. You will also support pupils with additional needs, including those with SEND, helping to ensure every child can participate fully in school life.You will play an important role in maintaining a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment, supporting pupil wellbeing and safeguarding, and working collaboratively with teachers, colleagues, parents and other professionals. The role will also include supporting educational visits and lunchtime supervision.We are seeking someone who enjoys working with children, has excellent communication and organisational skills, remains calm and positive in challenging situations, and is committed to achieving the best outcomes for all pupils. A willingness to learn and undertake relevant training and professional development is also important.
