What skills and experience we're looking for

Teaching Assistant

Grade 2, Point 4-5, £25,185 - £25,583 per annum, pro rata

Actual salary £11,696 - £11,881 per annum

We are eager to hear from you if you are a dedicated, highly motivated, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting young people to enhance their learning opportunities. This position involves working 20 hours per week (with negotiable days and hours), initially on a fixed-term basis until 31st August 2026, with the potential to be extended. Please note that this role is contingent upon the students continuing to receive funding and remaining enrolled at the College. The successful applicant will join a team of Teaching Assistants committed to delivering exceptional support in literacy, numeracy, language, behaviour, and social skills.

To be considered for the role you will be able to demonstrate that you are:

  • Able to provide excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate well with young people focusing on access to learning whilst building positive working relationships.
  • Able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Able to provide clear instructions and guidance, using coaching and listening skills to support young people with access to learning.
  • Able to promote an ethos of inclusion and equal opportunities for all, regardless of any special educational needs.
