What skills and experience we're looking for
- At least 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English
- A level or equivalent level 3 qualification
- Practical knowledge of supporting young people in their learning
- An understanding of inclusion and supporting students with differing needs, including SEMH
- An understanding of academic assessment
- An understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures
- A genuine liking of young people and a willingness to support them
- Tenacity, resilience and the ability to repair relationships
- Commitment to maintaining the caring and supportive ethos of the school
- Good behaviour management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Ability to work both as part of a team and individually
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to stay calm and work effectively when under pressure
- IT competent
- Ability to carry out tasks set by others
- Previous work with young people
- Responsibility for managing own workload
- Experience of working in a school
- At least one year in a role working closely with young people
- Confident in a classroom environment both at KS3 and KS4
