Ormiston Meridian Academy are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant, to work as part of the Learning Support Team/ SEND department in supporting students with learning difficulties, disabilities and other barriers to their learning in mainstream classes. The working hours for the post will be Monday to Friday 8.45am to 3.15pm, 28 hours per week, term time only including INSET days.

Your role will be to assist identified learners achieve success in their studies. This could include those students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) issues, students with an EHCP and students requiring additional support in lessons.

Join our dedicated SEND team and make a real difference to students’ lives. You will provide tailored 1:1, small-group and classroom support, helping students with SEND to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Working closely with teachers and the SENCO, you will deliver targeted interventions, monitor progress and champion an inclusive learning environment where every student can succeed.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate and caring individual who enjoys building positive relationships with students, families and professionals. You will play a key role in removing barriers to learning, promoting high aspirations and contributing to the wider life of the Academy.

Key Requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above or hold certificates in Literacy and Numeracy Professional Skills.
  • Functional Skills Level 3
  • Must hold or be willing to work towards Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.
